HOW TO THROW A FUN BACHELOR PARTY

vegas bachelor party. Dead Man Walking. The Green Mile. They all featured memorable moments of men walking to their deaths. A bachelor party isn't exactly the same, though many men and their buddies do see it as a final goodbye to the single life.

So while not such a solemn occasion, it does represent the last day of a groom-to-be's rowdy youth--so it should be fun and memorable. Chances are one fellow among the many might be put in charge of the entertainment. Oh no, party planning! Isn't that a girl thing? Tough luck. Every party needs a little planning. But in case you're the odd man out in charge of planning your buddy's bachelor party, here are a few pointers.

Don't have your party the night before the wedding.
Does this really need emphasizing? Nobody in a tuxedo looks good if they're hung over and dizzy from too much headache medicine. Have your party several nights in advance so you can stay up, drink and be wild without it affecting the really important day of the week.

Are you really examining all your options?
Don't bachelor parties consist of binge drinking and strippers? Well, yes the more simplistic ones perhaps. But when a man gets married and leaves the single life behind, it symbolizes a loss of time to do many fun activities.

Believe it or not, getting drunk in a hotel is not the epitome of fun and excitement. Why not take the group and go to a casino? Go skydiving or take part in some other active sport? After a man gets married he might not have the time for such events. So while some use the last night of freedom for over-drinking and subsequent hangovers, others spend time more wisely.

Do something exciting.
A bachelor party could consist of a really fun adventure. Groups have been known to go hiking or camping. If you want to drink, then rather than staying at the hotel with cheap liquor (you definitely don't want to pay for the hotel drinks) why not go bar hopping or visit some cigar lounges?

For even better fun, rent a limo and pretend like you're the cast of Entourage. If you plan on going to eat, rent a full room so you can be as rowdy and loud as you want to be without offending the elderly.

Finally, think big. For your last night together, think of going to a big sporting event. Drink all you want and cheer for the home team-just make sure and get a designated driver. Yes, being busted for a DWI and thus missing your wedding might infuriate a couple of non-males in your life.
