FIVE TIPS FOR THE BRIDE AND GROOM IN REGISTERING FOR GIFTS

present wedding, gift registry tips. Registering for bridal gifts is a tricky situation. Many people already see these systems as tacky, so it's important to be very polite and dignified in all your dealings with wedding guests and the store. Consider five important tips for you and your spouse in registering for gifts.

1. It's never too soon to say, "I love you"
In fact, it's an excellent idea to register as soon as you get engaged. This allows guests more freedom of choice, as they can purchase a gift for any celebration from pre-wedding parties to after the ceremony. It also lets gift-giving guests to be as extravagant or as simple as they want to be.

2. Know what you want so that your guests learn quickly
Your guests will get the right idea, depending on what store you choose. Will you be happy with a traditional registry list with lots of kitchenware and bedding? Or are you and your spouse more into camping or house remodeling? Choosing a store with your personality is not only more practical in the long run, it also gives your guests a better idea of what to buy.

3. Make a list well in advance of the day
Make a list of what you need, what you have and what you wish you had. This will help you to decide on a definite registry list when the time comes. Most likely, you will already have some dinnerware and other furnishings of your own that you would use everyday. So there might be a need for some "formal" dinnerware and table linens. How detailed is your list? Have you already chosen the colors and patterns you prefer? It's never too soon to get organizedbr.

4. Learn About The Store
You know what kind of products they have, but what else is there to know about the store? Is it the gift purchasing process easy on the guests? How many participating store locations are there? Can the list be faxed, emailed or phoned in to guests a long distance away? Can gifts be ordered online?

5. Choose More Than One
Not more than one spouse, that is, but bridal registry stores. Just choosing one store will limit your variety of gifts and your generous guests' options. Many couples choose 2-4 registries with different stores, which makes it easier for everybody. Also, choosing one store for each need (bedding, china, appliances) prevents the possibility of signing up for the same items at different locations.

Bridal registries don't have to be tacky. The more options you offer your guests the more courteous a newly wed couple you will be—the type that people want to shop for.
