FOUR TIPS FOR THROWING A GREAT BRIDAL SHOWER![]() A family's peace of mind is another cost that cannot truly be accounted. Finally, there is the cost of restoring a home, which can be an added insult to injury. 1. Be Thoughtful To The Bride A bride-to-be can't have too much fun unless all of her friends are with her. So be sure and invite her closest friends to the shower and stay clear of her enemies. (If in doubt ask around to see who is who.) Continuing the thought of being thoughtful, don't assign the bride anything to do. It's her shower and so her only job should be to relax and enjoy the company. If you can make sure of these simple things, then your successful bridal shower is nearly complete. 2. Be A Project Manager Don't distract yourself as the hostess of this bridal shower with other activities. Make sure to stand at attention and oversee how the event is going on the inside. While it's a good idea to watch the schedule and make sure the guests are being entertained, remember your primary responsibility is to keep the bride-to-be happy. 3. Plan A Theme This requires first that you have the bride-to-be's gift wish list in hand and can decide on a theme that fits the wish list. If the items on the list are very traditional, then a more traditional theme might be a consideration. If the wish list includes more creative items, then organizing the party around a fun theme might not only be enjoyable but also help fill out the wish list. 4. Above All Else, Have Fun Standing around and chatting is fun but eventually people run out of things to say. Therefore, organizing fun activities which allow the girls to open up are much appreciated. When planning games and party themes be sure and choose something that the bride will personally enjoy. Since the shower is thrown on behalf of her, it wouldn't be right to let the guest of honor feel left out. Also, be sure and know the personal tastes of your guests and the bride-to-be. If there are mixed ages present, then truth or dare and adult gag gifts might be the opposite of fun. Being hostess of a bridal shower is one of the more enjoyable responsibilities you can be entrusted with. Have fun with your assignment and remember to give the bride-to-be some lasting memories. |
