UNIQUE STORES TO REGISTER FOR GIFTS
Most bridal registry lists will consist of the same old stuff such as china, kitchenware, cooking appliances and a few nice linens and furnishings. But not all newlywed couples are in need of such basic household items, especially if they've been living together for a while or were previously married.
Therefore, many couples are looking into registering at different kinds of stores. Most department stores have a bridal registration system available, even the stores that don't sell traditional household items.
The Hope Depot
Take The Home Depot for example. If either spouse shares an interest in home remodeling, then a gift registration with a store like Home Depot would be much more appreciated than chinaware.
The Hope Depot sells everything related to home improvement, including electronics, baths, flooring, furniture, heating and cooling units, kitchen, plumbing and outdoor living. The store also features a special online gift registry that allows wedding guests to purchase over 9,000 types of items for easy ordering and delivery to the happy couple.
Similarly, Lowe's features home improvement merchandise including cooking appliances, power and hand tools, outdoor furniture, lumber and plumbing products, and household appliances.
These are all very valuable gifts to someone interested in home repair. And unless you live in a mansion with a staff of hundreds, chances are your home will need some repairs or remodeling at some point in the future. Beyond home improvement, Lowe's also sells electronic and hardware gifts that are desirable by anyone-even those not inclined to do self-repair. Washes and dryers, and common hand tools are other items that may look nice on a registry gift list.
People are usually inclined to buy gifts that they themselves would appreciate. While some guests might feel more comfortable buying china and glassware, others who regularly shop at hardware stores might be more inclined to buy a gift at Lowe's or The Home Depot. Therefore, what might be a good idea is to set up bridal registries at a couple of different stores. One store for kitchenware, another for appliances, and one for home accessories.
This type of smart planning allows everybody to shop comfortably and ensures the bride and groom get a variety of practical gifts.
